It Programmer

Overview of the position

• you will be working alongside the Head of IT to offer in-house technical support to our staff
• initially, you will be responsible for the upkeep of all computers, their software and hardware
• under supervision from our Head of IT, you may be asked to look after some parts of our server or assist key customers
• you will be involved in the release process of our mobile apps

Our requirements

• programming experience, and be a fast learner; you will be expected to be able to learn new languages on the job
• an understanding of the following would be useful: Javascript, Prolog, C, C++, Java, Swift, Ruby, Rails, Git, CSS
• experience maintaining and working with Linux systems and servers would be a distinct advantage
• knowledge of mathematics at tertiary level would be beneficial.
• a professional level of written and spoken English 
• someone with the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision for long periods of time to make strict deadlines
• must have attention to detail and commitment to excellence

This is an ‘in-house’ position; due to the nature of the work, it is not possible to work remotely.
