ABOUT THE ROLE
When BAI Communications Australia undertakes an information technology project, an IT Project Manager is assigned to oversee the project. IT Project Managers are responsible for a range of activities including planning, execution, governance, and stakeholder management.
The most important characteristic of IT Project Managers is that they love helping our business succeed through the ongoing delivery of value and great outcomes. This requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, persistence, and flexibility. As an IT Project Manager, you will work on assigned projects from initial brief through to operational handover ensuring project outcomes are achieved whilst continually improving our ways of working.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Coordination of project team resources including IT, business staff and external parties.
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, objectives, key results and acceptance criteria.
- Financial tracking and regular reporting of estimates, actuals and budget changes.
- Successful delivery of project outcomes within timeframe and budget.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation– including Risk Register, Issue Register and Change Register.
- Update project information systems – Azure DevOps, Confluence, Intranet, and key systems.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Contribution to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
- Work with Project stakeholders and IT leadership team as required to ensure efficient delivery of the project.
- Facilitate and encourage regular communication within and between teams.
- Each member of Information Technology is responsible for helping to keep information assets and information processing assets secure. This includes complying with information security policies and working with the Information Security Manager to achieve positive security outcomes.
- Degree in Information Technology, related discipline or equivalent experience a plus
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager delivering Technology focused projects
- Formal qualification in agile and traditional project management methodologies desirable
- Project methodologies including Agile and preferably SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
- Project Management tools – MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps
- IT technical background, Cloud technologies, with an infrastructure focus
- Confident communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution
- Project cost accounting and financial management experience
