About the role
The Clinical Midwife- Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) for Jaghu Maternal and Infant program will provide care and support clinicians to provide, woman-centred, family-oriented, evidence-based and contemporary child health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, jarjums and their families.
The Clinical Midwife – MGP has responsibility for working in partnership with cultural leaders to ensure integration of all planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of culturally safe midwifery services across the perinatal continuum. The Clinical Midwife will also develop and maintain collaborative and effective relationships with community based and hospital clinicians and health services to enhance support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families.

About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- High-level experience in delivering advanced level clinical expertise, knowledge and leadership in the area of midwifery care.
- Experience promoting clinical and professional standards through the application of relevant legislation and frameworks which support best practice, contribute to service improvement and minimise risk.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills, including skill in general computer software applications.
- Evidence of evolving leadership and management skills including respectful and professional challenging of behaviour and attitude and application of conflict resolution skills.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
