Duration: 1 year Fixed Term Contract with possibility of extension
We are looking for a Java developer with considerable experience in software development and analytical defect resolution/bug fixing of enterprise systems and solutions to work primarily within the application maintenance and support team.
Prerequisites:
- Needs to have Senior Java Developer experience as a base.
- Expert Spring Framework and Spring Boot knowledge.
- Expert knowledge of Git and Java build systems using Maven and Gradle.
- Signification experience and knowledge in the Docker containerisation space especially in creating images for applications and running them as containers.
- Significant experience in developing and deploying applications to J2EE Application Containers e.g. Websphere, Weblogic etc.
- Understanding of the plumbing J2EE Application Containers provide in terms of legacy application development in that space and how Spring (Spring Boot) is used to as an alternative in the absence of those Application Containers.
- Experience with Tomcat and Wildfly(JBoss) essential.
- Signification experience in “Lift and Shift” type projects in the J2EE space i.e. Java version upgrade (e.g. Java 6 to Java 8), conversion to usage of Spring Framework and Dependency Injection.
- Significant knowledge of JSF, RichFaces and Struts frameworks.
- Expert JavaScript knowledge and working knowledge of CSS.
- Continuous Integration knowledge especially knowledge of configuring TeamCity builds.
- Significant experience in the integration space namely in the area of Web Services and asynchronous messaging using JMS.
- SQL knowledge especially with MS SQL (T-SQL, Stored Procedures etc.)
- Knowledge of XML based Java persistence frameworks such as IBatis/MyBatis ideal.
- Some Azure experience ideal.
