Our Federal Government Client is Seeking a Development Expert for their team in Canberra.
This is a long-term contract role with an initial duration of 12 months, extendable for an additional 24 months (2 x 12 months). The position is located in the ACT, with a minimum requirement of 3 days per week in the office. Work-from-home arrangements are negotiable with the business area.
About the Role:
Development Experts EL1 play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying code as part of the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with architects, system analysts, testers, and business areas to contribute technical expertise and drive business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, unit test, and deploy code as part of the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with various teams to contribute technical input and achieve business objectives.
- Possess expertise in authentication protocols, API/microservices, event-driven architecture, and Spring Boot development.
- Experience with logical and physical database design, domain modelling, and database integration.
- Utilize code repository management tools (Git/SVN) and CI/CD pipeline development (GitLab CI/CD, Bamboo CI/CD).
- 5+ years' experience in Java development
- Minimum 3 years' experience developing integration solutions for medium to large IT projects
- Proven ability to develop and deliver IT solutions using agile methodologies
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience designing applications for distributed and/or virtualized environments
- Ability to identify, track, and resolve incidents in production environments
- Experience with front-end technologies (JSP, jQuery, JavaScript)
- Strong understanding of Spring, IBM DB2, JPA, Webservice standards, and RESTful Services
Australian citizenship and an NV1 or Baseline Security Clearance are mandatory for this role.
