Do you want to takeoff in a career that soars and put travel on your bucket list?Well, you’re in luck as at Jetstar we’re looking for our future engineers to join our 2025 Apprentice Program, giving you the chance to do both.  Helping our teammates soar is what we’re all about, and with a new fleet of state-of-the-art aircraft, plus new routes being added, the sky’s the limit.

As part of our commitment to growing our pipeline of future engineers, we’re excited to be looking for committed, team players to join our 2025 Engineering Apprentice Program, commencing in January 2025.

We’re offering a program that will see you trained across all the skills necessary to carry out aircraft maintenance.  You’ll be coached and mentored by some of the best of engineers in the industry and rotate through a range of engineering tasks – all designed to develop your technical skills and help you takeoff in your new career as a Jetstar Engineer.  In 2025, we are seeking apprentices in the aviation trade streams of Structural, Mechanical and Avionics.

Jetstar Engineering: A team that takes off together

We rely on our engineers to deliver our superior safety standards, up to the second. They’re the trouble-shooters, glitch-fixers and tech-experts who make sure we take to the sky safely.

As part of our investment in our future, we launched the Melbourne Engineering Precinct, which is the main maintenance hub of our network. Our engineers are uniquely placed to enjoy a career that sees them developing skills across all functional areas of maintenance – line, intermediate and base activity. Our team also has the opportunity to work not only on Jetstar fleet, but customer aircraft – A320/21, B787 and A320 Freighter.   Our Melbourne Precinct is the proud home for our Apprentice Program.

Ready for your next adventure?

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Brings a Year 10 School Certificate or equivalent
  • Able to commence full employment with Jetstar in Melbourne in January 2025
  • Work experience is desired, but most importantly we are seeking individuals who bring a genuine curiosity and interest to learn about all things aviation and how we work as team to ensure that our aircraft take to the skies safely
  • Feels confident to work independently but enjoy working as part of a team
  • Able to take direction and take the safety of yourself and your team members seriously by using your professional communication skills
  • The ability to demonstrate a positive and willing attitude to learning; both on the job and through a diligent approach to your formal education
  • Willingness to work in a shift work capacity (days, nights and weekends) as per our Engineering team’s roster.
  • Is a Permanent Resident or Australian/NZ citizen at application.

This is your opportunity to help us learn about you – don’t forget to submit a cover letter and current resume.
