The Opportunity
The Mudgee Guardian has given a voice to the people of the Mid-Western Region and the broader Central West since 1890. We pride ourselves on tackling the big issues facing our region while also highlighting the enormous contributions the people in our communities make every day.
Mudgee is a varied, historic and rapidly growing area. Mudgee regularly hosts national sporting cultural events and is rich in food and wine culture.
We're looking for a dedicated journalist capable of working as part of a team in a vibrant seven-days-a-week remote newsroom.
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong news-gathering and writing/reporting skills
- Passion for grassroots sports, sportspeople and their stories
- Proven skills in writing for online and social media audiences with tight deadlines
- Proven educational qualifications in Communications/Journalism
