ABOUT THE ROLE

The Junior Competitions Manager - North West is responsible for the management, administration, and delivery of all North West Football League (NWFL) Junior Competitions and supporting the North West school competitions. They provide operational support, advice and education to the NWFL Executive, clubs and key stakeholders to support the development, sustainability and growth of junior football.

This role is located in Tasmania.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and manage NWFL Junior Competitions in accordance with the relevant competition rules and procedures and all relevant national policies and guidelines.
  • Manage Junior Competition fixtures, registrations and transfers, results, match day paperwork, tribunal & finals series.
  • Manage relationships with Club Presidents, Junior Coordinators and other key club volunteers.
  • Provide support and direction to the NWFL and respective clubs with respect to Junior Competition structures, rules and regulations.
  • Ensure viable and sustainable community club networks through effective and efficient club and competition governance.
  • Support delivery of education programs enhancing the volunteer experience and overall quality of the community football environment.
  • Support the Participation team to delivery initiatives that grow football within the region.
  • Work with the Regional Manager, NWFL Competition Manager and relevant AFL Tasmania staff to provide clubs with education and development support, including providing resources and implementing best practice solutions.
  • Provide support to maintain and prepare financial accounts and records as requested by the NWFL Executive and NWFL Competition Manager.
  • Manage competitions within budgets provided and oversee all club invoicing and payments.
  • Work with the NWFL Junior Development Officers to assist in coordinating primary school football.
  • Support the administration, management and delivery of North West Junior Football Union (NWJFU) competitions.

OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Organised with proven ability to plan and coordinate on a large scale.
  • Proficient technology use.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Australian Rules Football, particularly junior football rules, regulations and policies.
  • Experience in sport governance or competition management.
  • Experience with PlayHQ management system (or similar).
