Your next exciting job opportunity:
BMT are seeking a Graduate / Junior Naval Architect to join our defence and security team who will be responsible for professionally and efficiently undertaking engineering tasks of limited scope and complexity under the guidance of more experienced staff. The role has a strong project orientation and contributes to the team in which it operates.
In this role you will be able to:

• Under supervision from more senior employees, undertakes initial professional technical tasks of limited scope and complexity.
• Operates within practices and procedures covered by precedents or well-defined policies. Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment.
• Acquires training and broadens experience to become qualified for more senior responsibilities.
• Collects data and gathers information, performs standard computations, testing, modelling or analysis.
• Adheres to quality, safety, and environmental procedures/standards.
• Basic knowledge of relevant software, systems, and processes.
• May work as part of a project team to deliver projects to scope and within time, cost, and quality requirements.
• Attain and manage Defence security clearance.
• Contribute to a wide range of projects within areas of technical competence, including occasional field work.
• Work in conjunction with team members, compile project proposals, planning, executing and deliver engineering consulting projects and the associated reports.
• Participate in design and calculation, report writing, and compilation of project marketing flyers to assist in business development activities.
• Grow the current business and client relationships, develop new services and improved techniques, and foster collaboration with other team members.

Relevant Education, Experience, and Skills:
Essential:

• Tertiary degree in relevant discipline or other relevant area of study.
• Highly organised
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence a range of key stakeholders.
• Experience in customer liaison
• Strong team orientation skills
• Demonstrated understanding of safe work methods
• Ambitious, hard-working, and eager to learn.
• Intermediate level skills in the MS package
• Must be an Australian Citizen to pass ADF security clearance (NV1)

Desirable:

• Experience within the maritime industry
• Analytical, investigative and design skills
