The Role
The Kyndryl CSIRT (Cybersecurity Incident Response Team) is looking for a Junior Security Intelligence Analyst to join an advanced team that drives proactive identification of threats within the organization, provide rapid response, monitors user activity, network events, and signals from security tools to identify events that merit attention, prioritization, and investigation.
Who You Are
Primary Responsibilities:
Work from home set up.
Analyze network and host activity associated with both successful and unsuccessful intrusions by advanced attackers.
Receive and assess alerts and incidents reported by security systems, users, or other sources.
Monitor, triage, investigate, and respond to suspicious activity across all company assets.
Conduct initial investigations into security incidents, analyzing logs, system artifacts, and network traffic to identify the nature and scope of the incident.
Prioritize incidents based on severity, potential impact, and urgency.
Collaborate with senior analysts or incident responders to develop and refine malware detection signatures.
Collaborate using information and knowledge sharing networks and professional relationships to achieve common goals.
Work with more experienced team members to implement containment measures to prevent the further spread of incidents.
Document incident details, analysis, and response actions in a clear and concise manner.
Collaborate with other teams, such as IT operations and system administrators, to facilitate incident response and remediation efforts.
Utilize security tools and technologies to aid in incident detection, analysis, and response.
Provide on-call support for incident response efforts outside of core hours as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
2+ years of experience in a Cybersecurity field.
Understanding of the incident response lifecycle at both technical and procedural level.
Understanding of Operating Systems and Network Protocols.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows administrative tools, and the Unix/Linux command line.
Proficiency with Splunk (preferred) or another SIEM-type platform.
Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
