An opportunity exists within Boral’s Cement business for a Production Manager to be based at our Tarong Fly Ash Plant in Tarong, QLD. Boral’s prized upstream cement business is an important supplier for our downstream businesses and external customers.
The Production Manager will be primarily responsible for managing Fly Ash site production and act as the Site Manager for the site operation. This is a hands-on role to manage a small team and coordinate plant operations and maintenance activities.
Your day will involve:
- Overseeing Fly Ash production/processing and act as Site Manager for managing and implementing HSE policies and procedures
- Creating and executing daily, weekly, monthly and annual production schedules
- Responsibility for plant maintenance and contractor management
- Striving to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines
- Maintaining safe and hygienic conditions for both employees and the plant itself
- Communicating any problems or obstacles to senior management and key stakeholders
- Monitoring productivity rates, standards and quality control
- Leading, training and coaching plant operators and contractors
- Implementing safety, health, environment and quality requirements
What are we looking for?
- Minimum qualifications include a Certificate/Diploma in Business Management or a Mechanical or Electrical Trade/Diploma
- Experience in the Cement/Fly Ash Industry or a heavy mineral processing manufacturing plant would be desirable
- Demonstrable production & people management skills with the ability to develop production operators to enhance process effectiveness
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work streams simultaneously
- A bias for action, strong safety focus and ability to positively influence trust and confidence in working relationships.
