Form of workNewport Consulting Engineers is a well-established engineering consultancy that specialises in providing structural engineering design services for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
Due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity for a junior structural drafter to join our team. This is an opportunity for a drafter to gain solid knowledge on a range of projects through on the job training and development.
While this is a full-time role, we have previously offered flexible hours to suit drafters who are also studying part time at university.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- production of detailed documentation for swimming pools, retaining walls and small residential projects
- assist the team to deliver time sensitive jobs with a quality result
- maintain systems and processes required to deliver services
- develop and maintain professional relationships with other Newport team members
To succeed in this role you will have:
- up to 3 years drafting experience in residential construction engineering
- good communication skills
- ability to work independently but within a team environment
- proficient knowledge of AutoCAD software
