We’re currently adding to our amazing team and are looking for a Part -Time experienced and passionate JuniorFootwear Product Design & Developer to assist in the development of our Homyped Women’s and Men’s range of shoes and Accessories. Our Homyped Footwear division designs and distributes superior shoes for pressure relief, alignment and stability, and support and protection, and we are always interested in passionate professionals keen to make a difference in this space.
What is the job responsible for:
- Design and development of Homyped Footwear and Footwear Accessory categories in conjunction with the Product Development Manager on a seasonal (bi-yearly) basis ensuring the quality is maintained and upheld according to the ethos of the brand's heritage and reputation.
- Conceptualize seasonal Footwear mood and story boards to reflect the upcoming trends related to the brand and its target customer base.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Graphic Design team when required, on areas concerning Homyped - not limited to but including creating the new season's Range Book and assisting with the seasonal Catalogue set up.
- Assist with creating seasonal Stockist's product and price tickets.
- Support the Product Development Manager with the tracking of samples – across Protos, Selling Samples and Production.
- In conjunction with the Product Development Manager, manage the overall Capex for new Footwear moulds/lasts being developed.
- Nominate and source materials (especially those which are more environmentally and sustainably friendly) to compliment the range, in line with the delivered brief.
- Review weekly sales reports to understand best sellers, both at retail and w/sale. Review improvements to QRT (quick response time) to best sellers.
- Daily liaising with our China office with regards to the design and technical (fit & wearability), aspects of the briefs within each factory.
- Assist the Product Development Manager with day-to-day administration tasks, maintaining of spreadsheets or additional tasks which may be required to be carried out, ad-hoc, based on the business's needs at that time.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience having worked in a Junior Design, Junior Product Developer or Design Assistant role/position.
- Strong Sketching and computer skills, specifically in Adobe Suite, Illustrator and feel comfortable and competent with using programs such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint etc. additionally.
- Have a Commercial acumen whilst also being creative with a strong eye for detail for the right look and style for our ever-evolving customer.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage and juggle higher levels of workload at peak times throughout the year.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal both across internal and external stakeholders as well as with overseas vendors.
- Have a "CAN DO" attitude and be able to assist the Product Development Manager additionally during busier peak times throughout the year.
- Ideal candidate would have between 2-3 years’ experience in a Footwear Design Role, or similar, with strong, additional Product Development & Footwear knowledge and fit experience.
