About the role:
The Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting and coordinating diverse water infrastructure projects, ensuring their successful delivery within defined scope, budget, and schedule. Responsibilities encompass assisting project managers with larger initiatives and assuming accountability for smaller-scale projects.
Skills needed:
- Familiarity with water infrastructure systems such as treatment plants, pipelines, and distribution networks is advantageous, though not mandatory.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, enabling seamless collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in written communication is indispensable, ensuring accuracy in process descriptions, operating instructions, and project management plans.
- Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving is highly valued.
- Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in project environments (external projects for clients), encompassing both on-site and office-based work.
- Water and wastewater treatment experience preferred but not required.
- Support all facets of assigned water infrastructure projects from inception to fruition.
- Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and external stakeholders to fulfill project requirements.
- Aid in crafting project plans, schedules, and budgets, monitoring progress against set targets.
- Conduct risk assessments and aid in implementing strategies to mitigate project risks.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project team members and subcontractors.
- Oversee fabrication and on-site installation activities.
- Assume varied responsibilities in process commissioning, training, and handover procedures.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
- Participate in site inspections and quality assurance checks to uphold specifications and standards.
- Assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and generating regular financial reports.
- Contribute to the development and communication of project status, milestones, and issues to stakeholders through routine meetings and reports.
