About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to cutting-edge research in regenerative medicine. As a Junior Research Fellow with the REMOD group, you'll be part of ARISTOCRAT, a pioneering consortium focused on cartilage-based stem cell therapies. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of experts, including clinicians, researchers, and industry partners, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing therapies aimed at preventing joint deformities and facial disfigurements.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting laboratory-based research
  • Executing rheological and compression mechanical testing on cartilage tissue and bioscaffolds
  • Designing and testing of 3D printed prototypes.
  • Tissue culture including stem cell isolation, expansion, 3D bioprinting and cells differentiation.
Who We Are Looking For
You excel in time management and communication, guiding students and fostering research collaborations. Your diverse experience includes international orthopedic collaborations and multidisciplinary teamwork.
You will also have:
  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering (awarded between 2022 and 2023)
  • BSc with honours in Biomedical Engineering
  • Evidence of publication in the field of cartilage tissue engineering and 3D printing track record as first author.
  • Evidence of participation to national and international conferences in the field of tissue engineering, biomaterials and 3D printing

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
