Junior Sheet Metal, Machine Operator

Protec Building Products Pty Ltd., trading as Protec Doors carry out manufacturing of steel frames, fire doors and solid core doors in Yagoona, NSW.

We are seeking a Press Brake Operator with experience or Junior Sheet Metal, Machine Operator.

If you are a committed self-starter, quick learner and switched on person, we are happy to provide you with on-the-job training where appropriate.

To be successful for this role you must possess the following skills and attributes:

• Be self-motivated with an eye for detail.
• Good communication skills and ‘can do attitude’.
• Reliable, hardworking and punctual.
• Relevant factory experience a plus.
• Must be flexible with duties!
• Be able to work unsupervised either individually or in teams.
• Proven track record and references with past employers where available.

This position will start as casual for a period and can be converted to full time permanent position for right candidate.

This is a physically active job involving manual handling and applicants must be fit, and able to lift up to 20 kg.

The employee will be required to implement quality control techniques and is responsible for the quality of his/her works and is able to identify faults in the work of others. The employee will exercise discretion and utilize fault finding skills in the course of his/her work. The employee will work in a safe manner so as not to injure themselves or other employees and will be able to identify hazards and unsafe work practices which may affect others in the team environment.
