What lies ahead
We’re proud to be the primary partner to a number of WA’s largest Alliance style projects, leading resource industry operations and delivering on business-critical talent solutions. As a result, we have been engaged on an exclusive basis to source a Contracts Specialist for one of WA’s leading start up, owner miners. Our client has several sites in varying stages of the mining life cycle and are looking for a Contacts Specialist to lead a range of RFP, RFT and contract execution activities for soon to be started site construction works and a separate project going through its study phase.
This role is offered on a contract basis – 6 month duration. Contractors/consultants are also encouraged to apply.
What can you expect:

• Execution of a range of key contracts including a major award of the contract mining package, procurement contracts (circa $1m packages related to NPI and processing) and smaller sub contract packages (under $5m - earthworks, civils etc)
• Develop tender packages and issue for pricing (RFQ / RFP)
• Support tenderer clarifications and responses including managing clarification registers
• Negotiate and conform subcontract and supply agreements including assessing overall subcontractor risk and implementing appropriate controls
• Manage critical vendor relationships and support the procurement of local, regional and Australian based suppliers

Your background

• Previous experience within a Procurement and/or Contracts Management position ideally within the mining or construction sector;
• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in quantity surveying, commerce or construction management;
• Ability to work collaboratively and positively with a range of internal customers and external suppliers;
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem solve;
• Proven communicator who can lead and influence.

Great people skills and the ability to build trust is a must backed by strong communications skills.
