About the role
A consortium between Gamuda Australia and Laing O’Rourke has been awarded a $2.16 billion contract to start tunnelling on the Sydney Metro West project.
With works recently commenced, the Gamuda Australia Laing O’Rourke Consortium is looking for an experienced Junior Site Engineer with Spoil Administrator / Waste Coordinator role to assist the project with managing over 3.5 million tons of spoil removal including 2.5 million ton off-site haulage and disposal and 1 million ton internal site transfer.
Key responsibilities
- Managing the projects spoil register
- Reviewing sub-contractors payment claims and cross checking against spoil register and disposal dockets
- Manage EPL licenses and Tip approval forms and documentation with sub-contractors and environmental department
- Obtain and file tip dockets and weighbridge reports daily from sub-contractors
- Coordination with excavation teams and environmental consultants to facilitate the waste classification process
- Coordination with site supervisors, logistics coordinators and transport subcontractors to facilitate environmentally compliant waste disposal (including the vetting of tipping facilities)
- Site observation and documentation of waste generation on-site in order to gather evidence and data to facilitate all of the above
About you
- Have advanced knowledge of Waste Classifications
- Assist with the design and daily maintenance of a one-stop waste register that is a centralised source of data encompassing the cradle-to-grave waste cycle, providing data for the following:
- environmental auditing and site validation reporting
- logistical auditing on truck data
- excavation tracking
- commercial reporting
- sustainability reporting
- any other uses of data for problem solving relating to waste
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel
- Ability to generate and enter data into reports I.E spoil registers
