AddressWe are looking for a passionate graduate Software Engineer to join our team as a Junior Full-stack Web Developer. We need someone who is switched on, eager to learn and who has a solid understanding of the fundamentals of web development across both the frontend and backend. We will place you under the mentorship of our lead frontend and backend engineers, to train you up across our whole stack, using technical best practices while also introducing you to the real-world processes of a tech team. Our stack involves a Next.js (React) frontend, GraphQL server, PostgresSQL and DynamoDB databases, and many AWS Lambda/Step Function microservices.
Role:
Backend
- Creating new queries/mutations for our GraphQL server
- Planning and building new data models
- Expanding our backend’s event-based architecture
- (Optional) Deploying services to AWS using Terraform
Frontend
- Creating and updating server-side and client-side components
- Styling and animating
General
- Planning and documentation of new features
- Testing and quality assurance
What we’re looking for:
We understand you’re a junior and may not tick all the boxes below
- Must be based in Brisbane and available to come to the office 3 days per week
- Enthusiasm, a strong work ethic and the drive to become a great developer
- Clear communication and honesty
- Proficient in Javascript and familiar with Typescript or a strongly-typed language.
- Experience with React / Next.js, particularly understanding of react server-components
- Familiar with Tailwind
- Familiar with a testing framework such as Jest
- Understanding of GraphQL and REST APIs
- Passion about the transition to renewable energy sources

- Possessing a strong understanding of our products and positioning.
- Provide feedback to company management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers
- Be a positive representative of the company and its brand in the marketplace
