As a Junior Software Engineer, this role offers an entry point into our team, with ample opportunities for a junior to mid-level engineer. You'll dive into a team that is committed to modernising Youi's technology by focusing on crafting elegant solutions using a mixture of greenfield and in-house tools. We prioritise delivering high-quality, reliable solutions adopting a pragmatic approach and leveraging agile methodologies to facilitate swift and efficient iteration.

Ways of Working

Ideally, our preference is for someone to be situated at our headquarters on the Sunshine Coast. Nevertheless, we are open to the possibility of having someone based at our Fortitude Valley office. We operate with a hybrid approach, requiring office presence from Tuesday to Thursday at either location, while offering the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

About You

Ideally, you will have:

• Hold a formal qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, showcasing a solid foundation in fundamental Software Engineering concepts.
•  Demonstrated familiarity with cloud computing platforms, with exposure to concepts and basic usage. (Azure preferred but not mandatory).
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Software Engineering teams.
• Showcase analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an emphasis on learning and applying best practices to deliver reliable systems under supervision.
• Understanding of C# programming language and .NET Framework.
• Eagerness to learn and apply coding best practices in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with at least one modern front-end framework such as Angular or Vue, with a willingness to learn and contribute under guidance.
•  Developing understanding of unit, integration, and API testing concepts, with exposure to test automation.
