The Commonwealth requires engineering support in the Technology Development team for the identification and development of new and improved technologies and capabilities, which are being investigated and procured by the Modernisation of Maritime Electronic Warfare (MMEW) Program.
The Junior Systems Engineer – Technology Development will have the opportunity to work on an impactful project whilst supporting and gaining exposure to critical engineering activities.
Please note: this role must be based in Adelaide with an active NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance.
What will you be involved in:
- Support engineering and technical activities associated with the identification, review and development of new and improved technologies
- Support development and implementation of the Technology Development team's engineering and technical plans
- Review contract deliverables for Technology Development projects
- Support the development of Statements of Work, evaluate technical RFT responses and provide advice to the Project Manager to support contract executions
- Develop documentation and briefings on Technology Development Candidates and projects
- Liaise with Defence Science & Technology Group (DSTG) to support program outcomes
- Collaboratively work with program team members and contracted companies to review deliverables, manage technical issues and constraints, and provide timely and constructive feedback
What we would like from you:
- Minimum 12 months experience working as a Systems Engineer
- Prior experience delivering technical outcomes in projects / programs of work
- Knowledge of Electronic Warfare Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and / or software engineering (highly desirable)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
