We are an established Homewares company offering an impressive and extensive range of products to retailers across Australia and New Zealand.
We are looking for a Textile designer with Graphic Design skills, a creative mind and “can do” attitude to join our design team.
Reporting to our Design Manager, this role will primarily focus on textile design, and packaging design however you will also be responsible for basic Social Media content creation.
A willingness to be involved in the overall design team tasks will be highly regarded.
Within this role you will be able to take instruction from the Design Manager and interpret briefs to deliver relevant tasks in a timely manner.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Create Textile Designs suitable for various Homeware Products but primarily Bed Linen.
- Produce “buyer ready” presentations of textile designs created.
- Produce Packaging Artwork for homeware products.
- Produce Social Media Content.
- Create marketing mood boards and presentations as required.
- Assist with showroom styling and set up along with the design team.
- Assist with bed styling to support in-house photographer when required.
- Any other design team related tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Well-developed skills and understanding of repeats and colour separation.
- Previous experience in creating yardage designs in repeat.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Textile design or post graduate may be considered.
- Proficiency in designing on Illustrator and Photoshop are a must.
- Tertiary level in Textile design completed.
- Ability to work at a fast pace.
- Create commercially viable designs and work to a buyer/clients brief.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Knowledge of Indesign will be an advantage.
- Attention to detail.
- Previous experience in Homewares Industry an advantage.
- Willingness to take on tasks as required by the Design Manager.
- Current driver’s License a must.
- Must be a Permanent Resident of Australia or Citizen.
