Hillarys Yacht Club is situated in the northern suburbs of Perth and is one of the few clubs with the Indian Ocean at its doorstep. Our Marina footprint consists of 5 Jetties with 269 pens.
Part of our core business includes the Hillarys Marina Lifting Service (HMLS) that provides an additional scope of offerings to our Members and our local boating community at its boat lifting facility. We provide services to Members to have their boats cleaned, serviced and maintained in a professional manner in a lifting yard with excellent facilities, staff and access to specialised contracted services.
The Role
The HMLS Junior/Assistant Boat Lifter is to provide “hands on” experience to the HMLS day to day operation of the boat lifting and associated yard maintenance activities.
This is a full time role working 38 hours per week over 5 days.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation of the Boat Lifter (Tammie Lift) and Forklifts
- Pressure clean various boats/yachts
- Assist with other HMLS activities as required
- Provide timely services for all customers
- Ensure positive relationships are maintained with contractors and Members
Qualifications & Experience
- Forklift Licence - desirable, training will be provided
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn
- Punctual and reliable with own transport
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and an understanding of customer needs
- Team player with the ability to prioritise and work unsupervised
- Demonstrate a high level of Safety and Process compliance
- Be physically fit to carry out labouring duties
- This position is outdoors and requires ability to work in any and all-weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills
- The position will require the successful candidate to complete a pre-employment medical and police check
