The primary role of the Key Account Manager is to ensure the company provides a high level of personalised service to our key customers across Oceania. Under your customer portfolio you will be responsible for customer retention, customer satisfaction, gross profit margin management, solutions management to supply chain issues and/or optimisation ensuring we are creating value to the customers supply chain.
Working closely with customer services, operations, account owners (sales) and senior management, you will act as an escalation point to create solutions and focus on continuous improvement.
Utilizing strong analytical skills, you will support the preparation of KPI packs, quarterly/annual business reviews, and present these back to your customers. Whilst the role does see a lot of administration time in the office, we do encourage face to face meetings where possible at least monthly.
You maybe required to assist with issues outside of working hours should this be required hence the tools to be able to do so are provided such as a laptop and mobile phone.
Our business is growing, as such the smooth onboarding of new customers or business units will also form part of this KAM role.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for a proactive approach to the overall management of specific account portfolio(s).
- Proactively evaluate, assist and maintain the implementation of SOP’s.
- Continuously improve process and procedures to ensure operations quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Ensure regular face to face meeting are conducted with key customer base.
- Assist with the preparation of the KPI reporting packs and present these to your customer base monthly.
- Where an issue has been escalated to you around service failures, liaising with operational teams/management and customer service teams/management competently is critical and if required, leading the communication with the customer directly. Time is of the essence here.
- Proactive interaction with overseas office, agents when operational issues arise to fi problems in connection with operational and customer services teams/management.
- Ensure Rate cards are maintained and accurate and sent to the customer in a timely manner
- Make Sure timely and accurate final invoicing is completed by the billing/customer services teams alongside landed costing reports or other requirements.
- Making certain the highest levels of professionalism and company standards are adhered to.
- Ensuring all metrics and KPI’s are met and reporting as directed by management.
- Cargowise CRM system - ensure all meetings and engagement with your portfolios accounts are logged and recorded.
