About the business and the role
Happy Feet Corio is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our 3 year old Kindergarten Team. We are looking for a Qualified Kindergarten Teacher that will embrace our Happy Feet values and is prepared to share their unique skills and talents and have a commitment to Early Childhood Education. The Kinder position is a full time position from 8.30-5pm.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Implement a quality educational program reflective of the principles, practices and outcomes in EYLF & VEYLF
- Program plan accordingly to the needs, interests and ideas of the children
- Promote the health and Safety of all children and staff
- Complete daily reflections and submit child based information into our online Xplor playground program
- Liaise with families about the progress of their child
- Set up Parent-Teacher conferences X2 yearly
- Work in a supportive and experienced team environment and mentor fellow educators
- Liaise with external agencies
- Setting up external excursions and incursions (Bush Kinder)
- Liaise with Centre Educational Leader & Manager
- Attend internal & external Reflective Meetings
- Critically Reflect and contribute to the centre QIP
- Complete end of year Transition Reports
- Support and complete KIS/ISS funding when required
- Complete Readiness for school funding (RSF) applications yearly
- Complete related tasks on KIM
Skills and experience
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or an ACECQA approved equivalent.
- Hold a current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration (either Provisional or full)
- First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Trained
- Ideally 1-2 years teaching experience in long day care setting, but new graduates encouraged to apply
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
- Good understanding and working knowledge of the EYLF & VEYLF
- Knowledge in the Children Service Act & National Regulations
- Experience with Xplor playground (preferred not essential)
- Experience in KIM (preferred not essential)
- Excellent Leadership and mentoring skills
- Knowledge on Child safety standards including child protection and reportable conduct scheme
- Implement School readiness programs and positive transition to school and early planning strategies
