Smiling Children ELC is seeking a Part Time Kitchen Assistant to work every Wednesday, most Fridays and cover annual leave and sick leave of our center cook.
ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
Smiling Children ELC is a 120 place long day care center providing Early Childhood Education as well as a 3 and 4 year old funded Kindergarten program to members of our community. The Centre is privately owned with day to day operational control exercised by the Centre Director with support from the Approved Provider.

The Role:
All meals at Smiling Children are prepared onsite. Within the role of a Part Time Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting our Cook in preparing the food and maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment. A Kitchen Assistant is responsible for keeping the kitchen area clean by mopping, sweeping the floors and following our Food Safety Program.
This role also includes delivering the trolley to our 8 rooms across centre for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. We are seeking a team member to work Wednesdays, most Fridays and be available to cover annual leave and sick leave of our center cook.

Key Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year work experience in a hospitality kitchen
- Employee Working with children check
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (desirable)
- Food Handlers certificate
- Experience working in a child care Centre preferred
- Experience preparing meals for children with allergies, including Anaphylaxis
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- A team player that also has the ability to work independently
- Proof of COVID Vaccine
- Certificate 3 in Children's Services (Desirable)
