Position’s primary objective
The Kitchen Operations Manager is expected to liaise and collaborate with rostered volunteers and the Volunteer Co-Ordinator to ensure the smooth operation of the new Kitchen. This position is also responsible for organizing the food supplies due to be delivered and coordinating the pickup time of the cook food for the food relief groups. Food preparation of quiches, pasta and sauces. Tasks may change weekly at short notice. This position reports directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Be available for 2-3 shifts (15-20hrs) on a weekly basis.
- Be able to delegate tasks to volunteers, keeping in mind individual abilities and limitations.
- Demonstrates strict adherence to food safety standards and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and professional presented kitchen.
- Production of bulk food that is both tasty and nutritious.
- Develop recipes for pasta dishes and curries.
- Build good working relationships with volunteers.
- Display effective opening/closing and kitchen handover practices.
- Sorting frozen meat products for defrosting if required.
- Promptly attending to spills and anything that may be a hazard to staff and volunteers.
- Promptly attending to accidents/illness and the general welfare of volunteers while they are at the Community Kitchen.
- Complete orientation for new volunteers (including corporate volunteers).
- If required, pick-ups and deliveries of supplies, using the Community Kitchen van.
- Attending monthly committee meetings.
- Carry out any other responsibilities as specified by the Committee.
- Willingly assisting in any other area of Frankies Community Kitchen Inc that requires attention.
