About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Steward Supervisor to coordinate and support the day-to-day shift operations of the stewarding team. You will ensure the kitchen, food preparation and scullery areas are organised, clean, hygienic, compliant and operating efficiently.

Reporting to the Chief Steward, you will be responsible for training, maintenance, sanitation and quality control. This is an active hands on role moving through the resort, working alongside our chefs in the large main production kitchen, multiple restaurant outlet kitchens and our large conference & event space. Your key responsibilities for the role include:
- Oversee and coordinate the cleaning duties & operations of the stewarding team, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained and compliant
- Ensure the kitchens maintain a clean and hygienic environment, maintaining cleanliness of cooking utensils and service crockery & cutlery
- Communicate and collaborate with chefs and other departments
- Guide and assist with the training, development and motivation of kitchen attendants to drive productivity
- Operate kitchen equipment, handle and use chemicals safety, perform manual handling tasks such as manual dish washing, moving catering equipment, waste disposal and deep cleaning.
- Contribute to HACCP & WHS through indentation, controlling risks, hazards and reporting to maintain a safe work environment
Full availability is required for this role including evenings, weekends & public holidays. Our team work a variety of shifts over a 7 day rotating roster, between 5am - 2am, to service outlets, late night IRD and large C&E groups.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Previous experience as a Steward Supervisor in a large commercial kitchen 4-5 star hotel/resort environment, essential
- Chemical handling certificate, desirable
- Leadership experience to guide, train, develop and reward a high performing team
- Strong communication skills, ability to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment
- Work well in a fast paced environment, remain calm under pressure and promote a positive workplace culture
- Excellent time management, attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office & Outlook
- Excellent grooming & personal presentation
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the role, eg perform repetitive manual tasks, working on your feet, heavy lifting & bending.
