Our Role

We are currently recruiting for Laboratory Chemists to be based at our Braeside Office in Melbourne, Victoria. The Asia Pacific Central Laboratory team is a key element of our organisations success and operates as a NATA Accredited Laboratory. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the key focus of this role will support the Geology team in achieving set targets by undertaking chemical and physical testing of mineral products as well as preparation of reports as required, all while and ensuring the effective operation of the site laboratory in accordance with our Safety, Quality and Environmental systems and procedures.

Key focus areas of the role will include:

  • Managing the processing of samples from collection and preparation through to analysis and measurement (drying, crushing, splitting and milling).
  • Perform physical testing on samples to ensure compliance with Quality & Procedural standards (calcination, available lime, reactivity, MRKI, LECO).
  • Perform loss on ignition and chemical analysis by XRF on milled samples.
  • Assist with maintaining calibration of inspection and test equipment to relevant Quality standards.
  • Ensuring laboratory LIMS databases are correct and up to date.
  • Maintaining strong communicative relationships with our Asia Pacific Central Laboratory team.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:

As the successful applicant, you possess relevant experience in chemistry or a related discipline and are degree qualified. Previous experience working in a mineral Laboratory as well as being precise, accurate, methodical, with strong and highly developed administrative, time management and organisational skills is highly desirable.
