We have an excellent opportunity for a Laboratory Technicianto join our Technical Services team based at Bulla Victoria.
Position Overview
The Laboratory Technician position will conduct quality control testing and control of quarry and waste products and other raw materials ensuring all product and quality standards are met, which satisfy both internal and external customer requirements.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, duties will include sample preparation, laboratory testing, field testing & sampling, and driving to collect samples.
The Laboratory Technician 's key responsibilities are:
- Performing daily laboratory testing
- Preparing and testing soil, and material samples
- Ensuring testing is performed in accordance with agreed standards
- Ensuring consistency in accuracy and timely output of work
- Administration duties setting up work orders and reports
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with company operational personnel
- Ensure compliance with company WHS, quality and environmental policies and guidelines
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Have completed HSC - good mathematics an advantage
- Be reliable

- Demonstrate mathematical aptitude and numerical capability.
- Have exceptional attention to detail, common sense approach and accuracy.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with an ability to handle conflicting situations.
- Be positive, friendly and outcome focused
It would be an advantage to have any of the following:
- Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar role
- Relevant laboratory and/or materials testing qualifications and/or training
- Demonstrated experience in quarry product, geotechnical or soil testing
- Experience working in a NATA accredited laboratory
- Understanding of associated industry testing methods and standards
- Understanding of Australian Standards 1289 & 1141
- LIMS Geotester software
