About MMG Dugald River mine:
Dugald River is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.
The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.
Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. The village provides all the amenities including a gym, with a women’s only area, a tennis court, swimming pool, walking track and entertainment area.
Laboratory Technician
Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate analysis of all MMG Dugald River samples. This position requires an understanding of laboratory practices and analysis techniques as well a strong appreciation of and adherence to quality control/assurance processes to ensure final result integrity.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a safety focus, attention to detail and excellent time management and task prioritisation. Important to the role will be experience and knowledge within sample preparation, XRF (including bead fusion), carbon/sulphur analysis, AAS and wet chemistry and an understanding of QA/QC systems. Your experience within a commercial laboratory is highly desirable.
This role is available on an 8/7 and 7/6 roster (days and nights) on a drive in drive out basis (DIDO) from the Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts. Kalkadoon applicants are encouraged to apply.
