The Role
As a member of Sealy’s Research and Development Team, this exciting and challenging role will provide the successful candidate with a broad exposure to Sealy’s quality product and innovative development processes. This will be through testing and analysis of raw materials, components and finished product. The focus of the Laboratory Technician will involve application of their technical understanding of mechanical testing and instrumentation for current and future product design and development. This role involves a hands-on approach to testing and evaluation.
Specific responsibilities of this role include:
- Test preparation: Collection, preparation and disposal of raw materials, components and full products for conditioning and testing.
- Mechanical testing: Testing and assessment of raw materials, components, and full products.
- Test reporting: Generate test reports and perform data analysis relevant to projects within the material and/or product testing area.
- NATA standard accreditation compliance: Assist/support in routine metrological checks and laboratory maintenance
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills whilst being a strong team player.
- Understanding of ISO17025 would be highly regarded
Your Profile
- Diploma in Science / Certificate III in laboratory skills or equivalent (Required)
- Material testing/product development experience within a consumer environment (Highly Desirable)
- Experience working in a NATA accredited laboratory (Highly Desirable)
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications
- Demonstrated mathematical aptitude and numerical capability
- Exceptional attention to detail, common sense approach and accuracy
