About the Role

Due to a recent internal development opportunity, JBS Australia is currently recruiting an experienced Labour Analyst to join our Northern team in a full-time capacity. Based at our Riverview office, and reporting to the General Manager Finance – Northern, this role will pro-actively analyse labour data across our plants and feedlots in order to influence business decisions and contribute toward optimising results. The role will range from requirements gathering, data extraction and transformation, through to building QlikSense visualisations, whilst also managing ad-hoc analysis and modelling requests.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining an accurate rolling 12-month resource capacity plan
  • Monitoring and reporting on forecasted vs actual performance, and ensuring that all variances are communicated, understood, and incorporated in future forecasts
  • Identifying and understanding gaps between actual and predicted workforce requirements, collecting and interpreting data to identify patterns and trends
  • Developing strategies/recommendations to address gaps proactively
  • Using data to identify opportunities to innovate, optimise workforces and processes and continuously improve performance through data-driven insights
  • Reviewing, constructing, and maintenance of accurate and robust datasets including manning models in line with Enterprise Agreements
  • Determining weekly and daily labour requirements based on volume forecasts and current work standards
  • Stakeholder management with clear communication of findings to key operational and HR teams and wider business stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities to automate supporting systems, processes and practice for increasing efficiencies across the organisation
  • Designing, building, implementing and maintaining dashboards
  • Creating and maintaining documentation of key tasks to ensure knowledge transfer amongst the analysis team and wider business
  • Contributing to lifting the teams brand using accurate, consistent and clear methodology
  • Working closely with the IT division to ensure data architecture and data governance are optimised to support the analysis teams needs
  • Reviewing and construction of robust financial modelling
  • Ensuring Company Labour Standards, costs, trends and deviations are visible to stakeholders, and are consistent and accurate
  • Supporting IR EBA negotiations as required
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives (PDCA)
  • Supporting the business with all analysis services as changing priorities dictate

About You

  • Extensive experience in a similar data and analysis focused role ideally with workforce management experience (ideally 5+ years)
  • Previous experience within the meat processing / livestock industry (ideally 5+ years)
  • Experience developing workforce management strategies and implementing continuous improvement and change initiatives
  • Data warehousing comprehension and the understanding of how to extract and transform data
  • Strong Qliksense dashboard and visualisation development experience (PowerBI knowledge advantageous)
  • Advanced Excel and VBA knowledge (for ad-hoc tools + legacy model dissection)
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Enthusiastic self-starter; ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated task and people leading capability
  • Flexibility in approach, listening to other opinions with a respectful, positive mindset
