Labourer Roads & Drains

Join our dynamic team at Mirani Depot, Mackay Regional Council, where we're seeking passionate Labourers specialising in Roads and Drains. Your contribution will be pivotal to our community's infrastructure development and maintenance.

As a Labourer, your duties will include actively participating in road maintenance, drainage system upkeep, and other essential civil infrastructure projects. Working closely with the Supervisor or Leading Hand, you'll ensure project quality and efficiency.

Here's what we're seeking in potential candidates:

• Must have a valid QLD General Construction Safety White Card.
• Must hold a current QLD manual Car 'C' class open Driver’s licence.
• Ability to obtain or currently hold a QLD Medium Rigid Truck 'MR' Class Licence (within 6 months).
• Ability to obtain or currently hold Traffic Controllers accreditation (TCT & TMI) (within 3 months).
• Proficiency in operating small ride-on equipment and light mechanical plant, supported by relevant certificates for civil construction machinery.
• Previous hands-on experience in road maintenance, construction, and other related civil infrastructure tasks.

• Willingness and flexibility to work overtime outside normal hours, if needed, to complete assigned tasks.

Salary & Benefits Package:  

• Base annual salary of $57,018 = $1,096 + applicable allowances
• Up to 18% weekly superannuation contribution (conditions apply)
• Choice of 4 or 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading 
• 9 day fortnight roster
