Position Objective:

You will be tasked with carrying out laboring and plant and truck operation duties associated with the maintenance and construction of roads, drainage assets, and other civil infrastructure as directed by the Supervisor or Leading Hand.

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• Current QLD General Construction Safety White card
• Current QLD manual Car ‘C’ class open Driver’s licence
• Current QLD Medium Rigid Truck ‘MR’ Class Licence or willing to obtain (or ability to obtain within 6 months of commencement).
• Current Traffic Controllers accreditation (TCT & TMI) (highly regarded)
• Competent operation of small ride-on equipment and light mechanical plant with relevant certificates of competency for civil construction machinery.
• Previous experience with maintenance and construction of roads, drainage and other civil infrastructure including earthworks, concrete, pipelaying, bitumen and vegetation work and hands on labouring tasks.

Special Requirements

• Willingness and flexibility to work overtime outside normal hours, where required, to undertake assigned tasks.
• Commitment to working cooperatively with others and foster team environment in line with the Program Team Book.
• Willingness to operate other construction equipment and undertake higher duties, where required, to meet task objectives, as directed by Supervisor.
• Proactively support, assist, and communicate with the Leading Hand or Supervisor to complete assigned tasks effectively and efficiently and to improve service delivery.

Salary & Benefits Package:

• Base weekly salary of $1,096 + applicable allowances
• Up to 18% weekly superannuation contribution (conditions apply)
• Choice of 4 or 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
• 9 day fortnight roster
