Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council is currently seeking applications for a number of Labourers (General Equipment Operators) in our Roads Construction and Maintenance, Water and Sewer, and Waste teams. From this recruitment process a merit pool will be created.

About the role
- Full-time – Ongoing & Fixed-term (Multiple Roles)
- Location: Braidwood, Bungendore or Queanbeyan
- The Package: $1,101.39 - $1,217.07 gross per week + 11% super. (Evaluated as Grade 4 of the QPRC Salary System 2023).
These positions are based on a 38-hour week, with a 9-day fortnight available. Employees are guaranteed a 3.5% wage increase in 2024-25 and 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance increases.

As a Labourer in any of our Infrastructure Services teams, you may be responsible for undertaking a variety of manual labouring tasks including:
- Road, Drainage, concrete, timber construction and/ or maintenance
- Litter patrol and/ or waste collection
- Stock and animal control
- Roads line marking, street signs and furniture and cleaning
- Water supply operations
- Worksite traffic control
- Waste and recycling operations
- Water meter replacement and reading
- Drive or operate, maintain and service Council’s plant.
We are looking for people with working experience in either the roads construction and maintenance industry or the water and sewer or waste industry (or in similar roles). Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and take pride in their work, and be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
