About the Business

At TasNetworks, we own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution networks in Tasmania, together with a supporting telecommunications network. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 285,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Tasmania. We also provide a connection to the Basslink undersea interconnector, and our network supports energy supply to customers in the broader National Electricity Market.

The National Electricity Market is transforming as new energy generation infrastructure replaces ageing infrastructure. Marinus Link and supporting transmission upgrades can support this transition by providing access to a low-cost, clean and reliable energy supply for customers.

Marinus Link is a proposed 1500 megawatt capacity undersea and underground electricity interconnection to more strongly link the Tasmanian and Victorian transmission networks, enabled by transmission upgrades in North West Tasmania. Marinus Link will also strengthen telecommunications service provision across Bass Strait. Marinus Link and supporting transmission upgrades can play a key role in Australia€™s future electricity grid, as the largest proposed infrastructure project in Tasmania€™s history.

About you

With extensive industry experience, you will demonstrate the ability to effectively influence, build rapport and trusting relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. Understanding of the Australian energy industry, the National Electricity Market (NEM) and regulatory environment, specifically energy transmission challenges and opportunities in Australia will enable you to engage with stakeholders as their trusted advisor.

Demonstrated knowledge of property access, acquisition and negotiation with an adaptable approach and demeanour will allow you to match the shifting demands of different situations quickly and effectively.

Program or project leadership experience in dealing with customers or landowners in regional areas, coupled with the ability to work creatively and analytically in a fast paced environment are essential to your success.

What's on offer

This is a once in a generation opportunity, with all the benefits of a Tasmanian lifestyle, while working on a project of national and international scale and significance. We offer a strong career path, excellent benefits, flexible working arrangements and employee assistance programs designed to guide you in reaching your full potential. You will be a valued member of the Project Marinus team as you assist with delivery of this high profile project. For those looking for a lifestyle change and a relocation to Tasmania, TasNetworks will support the move by offering relocation assistance.

Based in Tasmania€™s capital, historic Hobart will be a great base for the successful incumbent to reside in order to take up this role. The region is situated on the scenic river Derwent with stunning world heritage wilderness areas just a stone€™s throw away. Enjoy a relaxed lifestyle with easy access to world-class events like Mona Foma, Taste of Tasmania and Wooden Boat festival.
