Landscape Construction Team Members - Softscapes

Horizon West Landscape Constructions is a family owned and operated commercial landscape maintenance and construction company based in Casuarina WA operating across the Perth Metropolitan area.

We have multiple vacancies based out of our Casuarina Depot for experienced and inexperienced, fit, motivated “outdoorsy” people to join our dynamic landscaping team.

 Candidates will work across a range of various Landscape Construction projects throughout the Perth metropolitan area.

The role will be on a full-time basis with 6-month probationary period.  Reporting to the Construction Supervisor this role will be required to work Monday to Friday with early starts required and responsible for the following:

• Work as part of crew and make a positive contribution to a cohesive effective team and take direction from your direct Team Leader and Site Supervisor.
• Undertake all required works to a high level of professionalism and represent the company in a courteous, professional manner when dealing with teammates, the public and other contractors
• Undertake garden and soil preparation, laying of turf, spreading of topsoil, planting trees, shrubs and plants and apply fertilisers, mulch products and soil amendments to landscape areas as required as detailed within company work instructions and procedures
• Work safely and productively in various weather types not limited to high winds, extremes of heat and cold or rainfall. 
• Operate light landscape maintenance and construction equipment including hand tools and motorised equipment not limited to post hole diggers, lawn mowers, trimmers and edger’s in accordance with specified training and manufacturers operation manuals 
• Ensure the jobsite is clean and safe at start and end of each day.
• Maintain all site safety signage, barriers and other site control measures in a clear visible and upright position at all times 
• Take care of all equipment and tools as assigned and ensure it is always kept secure in vehicles or in close proximity to staff when not in use. 
•  Provide routine basic maintenance on tools and equipment, and help maintain high standards of vehicles cleanliness
• Keep accurate timesheet records, submitted for review and signoff by your Team Leader/Supervisor by the required deadlines 
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and safe job practices and conduct and complete Daily and Weekly Prestart Inspections via online portal (Skytrust) 
• Attend training classes and seminars as requested by management 

Qualifications, skills, and experience required:

Mandatory:

• Fit and healthy with an interest in “year-round’ outdoor work.
• Excellent work ethic with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Current WA C-Class Drivers Licence (Unrestricted C-Class Manual preferred) 
• Own reliable transport
• WA Construction Safety Awareness – White Card
• National Police Clearance
• Australian permanent resident
• High level of commitment to safe work practices

Desirable:

• MR/HR truck license.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Experience in horticulture, working landscape, parks, and gardens and/or turf industries.
