Tim Davies Landscaping (TDL) are a leading landscape design, construct and maintain company in Western Australia that has been in the business for 40 years. We have designed, constructed and maintained many of Western Australia’s most iconic gardens. Based on an all-inclusive design, construct and maintenance model, the business has been growing and evolving which has continued to strengthen our unique brand. TDL now employs over 130 people on projects in Perth and the North/South West regions.
The Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Estimator to join our Commercial Construction team based in Osborne Park, WA.
Reporting to the Pre-Contracts Manager you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates for Commercial Construction landscaping tenders ranging from $100K-$10M. You will utilise your prior experience to link in with our existing sub-contractor base to support pricing as well as looking at ways to innovate the service we can provide to our varying clients.
The key responsibilities include:
- In conjunction with the Pre-Contracts Manager, assess opportunities and qualify future projects for TDL;
- Identify preliminary requirements, take-off quantities, and accurately price all project components;
- Compile quotes and working closely with sub-contractors;
- Negotiate, follow up and finalise with builders and other clients;
- Prioritise and coordinating workflow with the support of an Estimating Assistant; and
- Maintain strong business relationships and build new relationships to support the tender process.
What we’re looking for:
- Estimating experience, preferably within the Landscaping or Civil Construction Industry.
- The ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and contracts.
- A strong attention to detail with outstanding analytical, problem solving and planning skills.
- Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret quotes, and prepare budgets and estimates.
- An alignment to our company values (Respect, Accountability, Integrity and Passion).
- Excellent working knowledge of excel and other estimating software (experience with ProEst would be highly desirable).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Effective time management with the commitment to achieve deadlines.
