By supporting the academic endeavour across teaching, research, and the student life, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to activities that have a lasting impact on our community.Join an organisation where excellence is at the core of our culture, contributions are valued, and a range of are available, such as:and, medical clinic, and post office26 weeks paid parental leave or 14 weeks paid primary caregiver leave17% superannuation contributions17.5% annual leave loading25% discount on eligible servicesAccess to our $4.1 millionVolunteer in ourAbout This OpportunityThe primary purpose of these positions is to provide operational/technical assistance and instructional support to undergraduate practical teaching, and to perform clinical duties in the Veterinary Teaching Hospitals.Key responsibilities will include:Provide high quality nursing and technical services within the clinic and to assist in the undergraduate teaching of veterinary students and Veterinary Technology students in a clinical environment.Prepare facilities/resources required to deliver or support undergraduate teaching in the fields of animal handling, management and husbandry;Assist with tutoring and demonstrations during practical classes and tutorials for undergraduate veterinary science and veterinary technician students;Prepare required equipment and maintain consumable supplies in preparation for the practical teaching;Prepare and collate materials as needed to support the School's practical coordinator in their role;Collection, storage and preparation of cadaver specimens for undergraduate teaching;Order consumables and keep an up-to-date inventory;Assist in practical aspects of research including collection and recording of scientific data as required;Record keeping as required to satisfy the requirements of the Government Sector Organisations;Perform rostered nursing duties and clinical teaching within the Veterinary teaching hospitals during non-teaching periods.This is a full-time (100%), continuing position.At HEW level 4, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $71,640.06 - $75,957.51, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $83,818.87 - $88,870.29 annually. As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.About YouCertificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and/or Bachelor degree in Applied Science (Veterinary Technology) or equivalent.Demonstrated Production Animal and Equine handling and nursing experience of a high standardCurrent Manual Australian Driver's License.Sound working knowledge of farm animal production enterprises and an ability to transfer and apply this knowledge in practical terms.Knowledge and skills in the use of computer software packages for word processing, data storage and retrieval, email, spreadsheets and other administrative activities.High level organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to work flexibly with the use of initiative and autonomy.Good written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to use these skills in managing professional & operational relationships with colleagues, clients and students.Demonstrated interest in participating in undergraduate teaching with knowledge of Animal Ethics requirements an advantage.Physically fit and ability to undertake physically strenuous work activities outdoors, in all seasons, with exposure to animal biological materials.Reliable, dependable, and adaptable availability, including as required for early starts and/or late finishes.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
