The Role: Laser Cutting Operator / CNC Programmer

We are seeking a full-time Laser Cutting Operator / CNC Programmer. You will play a pivotal role in the programming, setup, and operation of CNC Laser Cutting machines to produce sheet metal and plate components in a timely and cost-effective manner. Additionally, you will get to work on one of the largest and newest laser-cutting machines in the southern hemisphere (17m x 3.2m bed size) complete with bevel-cutting capabilities.

• Set up and operate CNC Laser Cutting machines to produce accurate and high-quality components.
• Select and install proper tooling and fixtures for each job
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot issues as they arise. 
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications 
• Program CNC machines using appropriate software to maximise material usage
• Maintain Offcuts
• Collaborate with other team members to optimize production processes.

You:

• Proven experience as a laser operator, CNC programmer or similar role.
• Ability to read & interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong knowledge of materials, tooling, and machine setups.
• Knowledge of safety requirements and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Good organizational and communication abilities.
• Proficient in CNC programming, preferably with experience in CADMAN-B (desirable)
