Our technical spatial capability captures the real world to produce 3D data and models for various planning, engineering, and architectural requirements. In time our digital capability will use analytics to convert the 3D data into knowledge and insights. Core to the Digital and Spatial (D&S) team are our acquisition services in terrestrial scanning, mobile Laser Scanning, UAV LiDAR, and UAV imagery. Our D&S team focus on 3D modelling, BIM, GIS, 3D visualisations, analytics and geospatial advisory.
The Opportunity
You will be working as a Surveyor to successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, solving complex logistical and technical problems, working as part of a team, and continuously improving our operations. This includes the end-to-end management of 3D datasets from point cloud capture to data processing and quality control to delivery according to client requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Undertake survey data capture in the field using a range of survey tools including GPS, Total Station, UAV, Terrestrial Laser Scanner and Mobile Laser Scanners
- Provide survey control surveys to meet the accuracy requirements of the project and to meet the needs of various clients and stakeholders
- Undertake site-based calculations to close traverses and level runs
- Provide written and verbal communication to survey manager and project manager about your findings in the field, including field cards and digital files
- Undertake office computations using a range of software
- Collaborate with drafting and modelling staff in the office to provide results of survey information in a timely manner
- Drafting skills to assist with deliver of data (desirable)
- Providing guidance in the development of methods and procedures for efficient survey data capture and processing
- Undertake all work within given time-frames and to a high standard
- Comply with legal and client requirements
- Adhere to company safety and health policies and practice remote a professional image while working on client's projects and in transit
- Any other duties as reasonably required
About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary or other recognised institution qualifications in Survey, Engineering, Geospatial or related discipline.
- Experienced in the survey industry (preferred) but graduates with correct background and aptitude will be accepted
- Good understanding of TLS, MLS, general survey and point cloud capture technologies and solutions.
- Good Understanding of processing 3D point cloud data
- Ability to identify and promote technical solutions that result in a higher quality deliverable
- Ability to get your ideas across and present information in a simple, effective, and inclusive way
- Ability to work autonomously and as an effective team member
- Delivery-focused, self-starter, problem-solver
- A commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism in all your dealings
