Law Clerk, currently studying a Bachelor of Law.
We are looking for a Law Clerk to join our Kingscliff office team commencing March 2024. This is a permanent full-time position, and one that will provide ongoing training, mentoring and development.

About the Firm
Bourke Legal is a boutique personal injury law firm. We opened our doors on 1 July 2021 and have offices in Ballina, Kingscliff and Orange.
About the Role
The role will involve personal injury work, providing support to Solicitors practising in NSW Workers Compensation and Common Law. You will work in a supportive team environment working closely with everyone within our team.
Ideally, the right person has some experience clerking or has worked in other legal administration roles - your experience is valuable, and we encourage you to apply.
As a Law Clerk in our firm, you will be given training, support and mentorship to develop your skills in:
- client engagement;
- drafting letters of instruction to expert doctors;
- drafting demands;
- drafting evidentiary statements to meet the expectations of the client, the Court and the case;
- how to find Experts, how to brief Experts, how to liaise with Experts and how to ensure that Expert Reports are on point, admissible and relevant.
About You
To be a successful candidate:
It is preferred (but not strictly necessary) that you have:
- Experience working in an admin or a legal admin role;
- Experience and confidence in working with and assisting senior lawyers (both in written and verbal communications).
It is necessary that you:
- Have an interest in personal injury law;
- Have interpersonal skills and can work as part of a team;
- Can build relationships and trust with clients;
- Can prioritise tasks and manage workflow expectations; and
- Are reliable, punctual and understand that sometimes you will need to “think outside the box” to a solve a problem.
