Law Graduate / Junior Lawyer

The Law Graduate / Junior Lawyer role is a hybrid role, required to assist with management of the JJR Group of companies. You will work closely with the General Counsel and Managing Director.

About the opportunity 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Law Graduate / Junior Lawyer to join our commercial team. This role presents an opportunity for a passionate junior legal professional seeking to move to an inhouse legal environment, with a genuine interest in contract and commercial law, insurance/risk management law, dispute resolution/litigation, and employment law.

Commercial & Legal elements:

• Provide commercial and contractual management support.
• Assist with reviewing contractual claims, documents, negotiations, arrangements and compliance with policies as required.
• Monitor and assess the standard of commercial dealings and support to continuously improve competence to manage commercial risk and compliance to ensure optimum outcomes.
• Ensure key stakeholders are well briefed on relevant issues.
• Assisting with ensuring that the company complies with its statutory obligations under any relevant laws and regulations.
• Manage statutory records including maintaining registers and retaining documented information.
• Confirm the completion and lodgment of statutory forms, return and reporting as required.
• Assist in ensuring that contracts are executed appropriately and managing other documentation related to administrative matters.
• Continuously monitor case law and legislative changes in a fast-moving environment.

HR elements:

• Assist with issuing all contracts of employment.
• Update, maintain, create policies and procedures as required.
• Ensure HR compliance is meticulously kept.
• Assist with managing recruitment, onboarding and exit processes.
• Assist with training and development, culture and retention.
• Coordinate the inductions of all new personnel.

What we are looking for

Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, including:

• You will have a degree level qualification in Law and be a strong communicator.
• You will have technical skills and exceptional writing skills to assist in the development of our written reports, procedures and policies etc. 
• Good communication, organisational and negotiating skills, with a positive and productive attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with deadlines.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and Project skills.

You must be someone who does not need to be micromanaged, takes initiative and is eager to learn.
