About the role

Our Workers’ Compensation group have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Law Graduate or Restricted Practitioner to join their team in Perth. The team is led by a Partner who is ranked Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Lawyer. As part of this high-volume practice, you will gain exposure to all aspects of a workers’ compensation claim.

We care about and invest in future talent. As a Law Graduate or Restricted Practitioner at Moray & Agnew you will work closely with and be mentored by a Partner and senior lawyers. The invaluable experience you will gain will be 'learned on the job'. You will also have access to our learning and development program.

The experience you can expect to gain includes the below:

  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Summarising evidence for use in advice to clients, with a view to developing opinion writing skills
  • Attending to discovery of documents
  • Preparing court documents for litigated matters
  • Attending simple chamber summons
  • Legal research tasks
  • Assisting with getting matters up for trial

About you

You will have completed your law degree and may be currently completing your post graduate studies and PLT, about to start your post graduate studies, or recently admitted.
You are motivated and enthusiastic. You should be eager to learn and develop and be passionate about a career in law. 
You will have strong academic results - and beyond your academic successes, you also possess the ability to apply your critical thinking skills.
The work requires attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills and strategic thinking. 

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following qualities:

  • Enthusiasm for learning
  • The capacity to work efficiently and multitask
  • The ability to meet deadlines
  • The ability to work paperless
  • An understanding of the importance of maintaining electronic records
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
