Form of workJDK Legal Services are a small boutique firm seeking the assistance of a PLT/Law graduate/Junior lawyer for a paid, fulltime position in their personal injury department.
Kate Dempster and her team have many years of experience working with people who have suffered personal injuries. Our work includes:
- Applications to WorkCover or at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal to resolve disputes arising between injured workers and insurers;
- Advice and representation for injured workers with an entitlement to commence a negligence claim in the District Court;
- Advice and representation for persons injured in motor vehicle accidents; and
- Negotiation of settlement and dispute resolution for personal injury, workers' compensation, motor vehicle accident claims and other personal injuries.
We are looking for a friendly, motivated, and reliable final year student or recent graduate to join our team. No prior experience required, however to be successful in this role you will need to have a genuine desire to help people during often difficult times in their life. Your job will be to provide assistance to 3 solicitors and tasks may include discovery, answering calls, sitting in on meetings to take notes, preparing correspondence and other administrative jobs.
Our ideal candidate would have excellent oral and written communication skills, as the role includes significant contact with clients, insurers Tribunal staff and other lawyers. They would have a practical approach to helping individuals obtain positive outcomes from a complex and intimidating system, and who is prepared for hands on experience in a busy firm.
