Job description

About you
We're seeking a Lawyer with a robust background in Planning and Environment law (preferably developer focussed), with approximately 1-3 years PQE.

Ideally, you'll have previous experience in mid or top-tier firms, handling various planning, development, and Environment matters, including preparing briefs to counsel and experts for VCAT and Planning Panels Victoria hearings, drafting Section 173 Agreements, providing contaminated land advice, and dealing with compulsory acquisition of land claims. However, candidates with a background in commercial litigation who have a strong interest in Planning and Environment will also be taken into consideration.

In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
  • Strong inclination towards building client relationships and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Solid understanding of the property development sector and pragmatic problem-solving approach.
  • Capability to provide outstanding service to clients while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently from home, as this is a hybrid role.
Your role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lawyer to join Gadens’ Real Estate and Construction team, working closing with Planning and Environment Partner, Andrea Towson.

Gadens' Real Estate and Construction practice offers a comprehensive suite of services, covering property acquisition, Planning and Environmental issues, development and construction, as well as sales and leasing. With a robust pipeline of diverse Planning and development work across various clients, our team provides a 'one-stop shop' solution.

In this role, you'll benefit from exceptional mentoring across all facets of your professional development, including marketing and business development, practice and client growth, and business acumen.

This position presents a unique opportunity to advance your career within one of Australia's premier planning & environment practices, offering ample room for growth and professional development.
