About the team and the role
We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced front-end construction / projects Lawyer or Senior Associate to join our projects and infrastructure team in Melbourne.
This role will focus on the procurement and delivery of construction and infrastructure projects across a range of key sectors including renewables projects, including solar, storage and wind.
Our projects and infrastructure practice sits within our national Property & Projects Section, and acts for a range of clients in the energy and infrastructure sector, including developers, contractors and utility companies. Our team specialises in the development of energy and infrastructure projects with a particular focus on renewable energy.
As a key member of the team, you will work with our award-winning and industry-leading partners and lawyers on the following types of matters:
- drafting and negotiating a range of project delivery and procurement documentation, including EPC and design and construction contracts, BOO/BOOT contracts, equipment supply agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, connection agreements, design agreements, development agreements and other project related agreements;
- advising on contractual and regulatory issues associated with the ownership and operation of electricity, gas and water infrastructure;
- acting for a range of clients in the energy and infrastructure sector, including developers, financiers, purchasers, contractors and operators;
- advising on the development of energy-related assets including electricity and gas transmission infrastructure.
- around 4 – 8 years of post-admission experience as a front-end construction / projects lawyer;
- ideally you will have experience advising on energy projects, and a strong interest in this area of the law;
- the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
- excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with keen attention to detail;
- outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
- a strong commitment to client service and the ability to manage client relationships;
- a focus on achieving commercial solutions for our clients;
- a willingness and ability to mentor and supervise junior members of the team; and
- the ability to organise and prioritise effectively.
