The Role
Our client is seeking a Lawyer/Case Manager for an initial period of 12 months to be seconded to a federal agency based in Canberra.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent legal graduate or junior lawyer to gain experience in a Commonwealth agency while working in small but supportive environment.
This position will require the successful candidate to manage cases referred to the director of the agency.
The Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include assisting with:
- drafting various legal reports on behalf of the Director;
- drafting agreements and general correspondence on behalf of the Director;
- interpreting medical assessments offered by medical consultants and integrating observations into reports and agreements; and
- daily liaising with legal representatives as part of the case management process.
The Requirements
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, and sound research and legal drafting skills.
It is expected that the candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who can quickly adapt to a range of issues.
A current Baseline security clearance is also essential.
