About The Opportunity

Programmed Building Projects are currently seeking a Lead Carpenter to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a high-performing team that provides end-to-end management services for a variety of building, property, and infrastructure projects with a focus on refurbishments & fit-outs for our ACT Housing contract. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direction on and assisting in the delivery of the daily operations of building works on nominated customer sites.

Nature of the position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Canberra

Reporting Line: Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands on carpentry duties
  • Supervising contractors and internal laborers
  • Managing safety on site
  • Reporting back to the Project Manager
  • Engaging in face-to-face client interactions

About You

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have experience managing site-based teams with a background in carpentry and be driven to deliver exceptional results.  Whilst you are focused on managing a team, you will still be required to provide hands on carpentry duties when needed. This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced Carpenter to move into a leadership role.

Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry
  • Previous industry experience, ideally within a fast paced and multi-site commercial environment
  • Current QLD Driver’s License
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong administration skills
